Colonial Lanes

I went bowling with Rachel, Ryan, and Matt a few weeks ago. We used 30 Rock names-- I was Lemon, Rachel was Maroney, Ryan was Dot Com, and Matt was Grizz.  I may in fact be the world's worst bowler. My all-time low score was in 4th grade with a 26. I bowled a 25 on our third game that night. How sad. It was fun, though!

Pizza at the Wedge before bowling

My strategy was to run and hurl the bowling ball. It didn't quite work out for me.

New Cookings

As you may know, I like taking pictures of the food that I cook.  Chris got me a rice cooker for Christmas, so I've been making a lot of tasty rice dishes.

Lauren gave me a cookbook from The Grit. Here's my rendition of the Golden Bowl-- super delicious tofu coated in nutritional yeast, steamed rice, peas, cheese, and butter. Yes.

Mom sent me a V-day package with the ingredients to make cupcakes. My friends enjoyed this gift as well.

I enjoy making breakfast of Saturdays. Here's some French toast with blueberries and French pressed coffee. How very French of me :)

Rice, vegetables, and eggplant "meatballs."  I made this entire dish in the rice cooker!

The Blizzard

The snow piled up about a foot over our side door.

Rachel trying to climb back in. Good thing she was wearing warm pajamas :)

The snow covered our covered porch and eliminated our front steps.

After our neighbors and us shoveled the driveway for a few hours.

Our cars were packed in good.

You wouldn't know this by looking, but there is an entire car buried in snow on the left

I hope no one is in the car...

I shoveled the sidewalk!

We only had enough energy to shovel half of the steps.

The finished product.

New Years

Chris and I went hiking at Elachee for his birthday/New Years Eve. He had no idea what we were going to do that day, so it was a fun surprise. I packed us a picnic complete with a birthday brownie and birthday candle :)

Suspension Bridge

"The Big Oak Tree," as my campers call it.

I love this guy.

The Hand

I put a hitch in our Christmas Eve plans by going to the emergency room after stabbing my hand with a very sharp knife while peeling apples. I'm all healed now, but for awhile my everyday activities were hindered-- or at least performed with only one hand.

I obviously had to track my wound's journey... Oh yeah, and I got three stiches!

Christmas 2010

Wow, so I've been pretty horrible about updating my blog. Woops...

Let's see if I can remember back two months ago...

Rachel and I decorated the apartment with lights and ourselves with ugly Christmas sweaters.

Chris visited IC, and we drank lots of coffee :)

We also did some shopping.

There's about five more where that came from. Mom went all out!

Lauren and John had us for lunch on Christmas Day. Delicious!

Mom and Dad gave C.J. the Camero-- he was shocked.

Thanksgiving 2010

I had a wonderful time over Thanksgiving break! It was great to visit with my family and friends, and we ate so much good food!!! (too much? nahhh!)

Apple Cranberry dish (Lauren's favorite) with the fancy punch I made

Pop enjoying his punch and watching football before lunch

So. Many. Dishes.

Mom always decorates the table so nicely!

20 lb turkey-- half was baked and half was grilled, both were delicious (says the "vegetarian")

The dinner crew and food

A game of Scrabble to finish off the night-- Chris and I won! "Wipe" got us lots of points.  We also played a crazily heated game of Farkle :)

Nana and I could play in the key of "C" all night :)
